The government is quite an enabler when it comes down to exploring new concepts and technologies. There are many subsidies & programmes often dedicated to a specific field of business.

Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO.nl) encourages (new) entrepreneurs in sustainable, agrarian, innovative and international business. It helps with grants, subsidies, finding business partners, know-how and compliance with laws and regulations. Check all available grants or financial programmes.

The WBSO (R&D tax credit) is intended to provide entrepreneurs with an incentive to invest in research. With the WBSO, companies can lower the wage costs for R&D and other R&D costs and expenditures, such as prototypes or research equipment. You can deduct the tax benefit in your tax return to the Netherlands Tax and Customs Administration.

The European Union (EU) gives grants for research and innovation. These grants are aimed at tackling climate change, achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goals and boost the EU’s competitiveness and growth.
