About THT Money Talks

That’s why we created THT Money Talks, a monthly event series at The Hague Tech for founders, startups, and scaleups who want a clearer view of the funding landscape and direct access to the people behind it.
Together with companies from the The Hague Tech community NexyZ, Fledger, and Quantify Group, we explore both sides of fundraising: how investors think and how founders can prepare themselves and their companies for funding and growth.
Each edition brings a different investor or fund to The Hague Tech for an open conversation about fundraising, investment strategy, market developments, and growing a company.

Meet Akshata Agarwal from Curiosity VC
For our second edition, we’re welcoming Akshata Agarwal, Principal at Curiosity VC.
Akshata brings a particularly interesting perspective to the investor’s side of the table because she has been a founder herself. She started her career in investment banking at J.P. Morgan before stepping into entrepreneurship, co-founding a media and entertainment venture in India and working in the country’s growing comedy scene. After successfully exiting the business, she moved into venture capital, giving her first-hand experience of both building a company and evaluating them as an investor.
Before joining Curiosity VC, Akshata invested in technology companies at Frog Capital, with a particular focus on health tech and climate tech. Today, as Principal at Curiosity VC, she works with early-stage technology companies and founders building the next generation of AI-driven B2B software.
At THT Money Talks, Akshata will bring together these different perspectives to discuss how investors evaluate early-stage companies, what they look for in founders and businesses, and what entrepreneurs should understand when approaching investors. There will also be plenty of opportunity to ask your own questions during the Q&A.
