Get an overview of the societal challenges in The Hague with the Digital Twin dashboard

At Living Lab Scheveningen, the municipality of The Hague is testing new technological solutions that are meant to tackle societal, economic, and social challenges. One of these technological solutions is a digital Digital Twin dashboard. With this board, you can analyze (live) data. In the first release, you can look at data of pedestrians and cyclists and get insight into the peak hours in traffic.
At Living Lab Scheveningen, The municipality of The Hague is investigating and learning how digitization and technological solutions can help the city’s economic and societal challenges. The goal for the municipality is to learn what is needed for smart applications to succeed in an existing urban context and how these tools can be utilized to meet the needs of residents in a better way. The results will also provide insights into what partners should be involved in future projects and current opportunties. For the dashboard, a partnership is formed with Argaleo. Together they produced the platform called DigiTwin, which is now linked to the data portal of The Hague.

Within the Startup in Residence InterGov program, a program initiated by the municipality of The Hague, Argaleo has won one of the innovation challenges with their concept “Crowd Safety Manager”. This project is carried out in the CityDeal program “Een slimme stad, zo doe je dat” (translated: this is how you create a smart city). In this program, pedestrian and bicycle data is initially linked to the dashboard to provide insights into the peak hours in traffic in the city.
Within the municipality of The Hague, various civil services have now shown interest in providing information into various data sources via the DigiTwin. Domains such as environmental, supervision and enforcement, and mobility can use the platform and information. At the same time, the municipality wants to further investigate how data from various sources can be accessed and shared via the DigiTwin dashboard. For instance with data from the smart sound sensors that are now installed in Scheveningen. The DigiTwin can provide short and long-term support to provide valuable insight into the societal challenges of the city of tomorrow.
