Codename: Sunrise

Den Haag, Zuid-Holland

Codename: Sunrise is a temporary space for connection and inspiration, fostering collaboration and action to create a pathway toward a preferred regenerative future.

During this two-day gathering, a group of people in The Hague explores collaboration and shares inspiration. The participants co-create the programme. The general topic is a just transition towards a regenerative society in our bioregion. We are not sure yet about the boundaries of this region.

You can request an invitation by signing up here. The ticket policy is ‘Pay What You Want’, except for food and drinks during the event. Feel free to connect for more information.

Practical information

The event will take place in The Hague, The Netherlands. For people joining both days, there are plenty of (low-budget) opportunities to stay overnight, like Pink Flaming Hostel, Gekke Geit, or Will & Tate City Stay.

The official event will take place from 10:00 to 19:00. Our venues are located in and near the city centre of The Hague, with many options for drinks and dinner nearby.

We encourage everyone to attend both days. However, we understand that busy schedules may make this difficult, so you’re welcome to join us for just one day. Let us know in advance. You can reach us at gerritjan[at]popdistrict.nl.

We’ll be offering drinks, vegetarian bites, and lunch throughout the event, either free or at reasonable prices. If you have any special dietary wishes, please let us know in advance.

The most important part of this event is the people joining. In the coming weeks, we will update this page with all participants. Feel free to join our signal group if you want to test the waters before signing up.

We aim for a 100% no-no-show event, except for unforeseen circumstances.

Codename: Sunrise is initiated by We Are Changemakers and gracefully handed over to Popdistrict The Hague at the start of our living Lab.

In the heart of The Hague, we now have a 25,000 m² public space available for experimentation and research. A decentralised cultural institute without walls. With a tram line running straight through it.

Popdistrict is a permanent festival site on and around the Grote Markt, featuring Paard, The Grey Space in the Middle, De Helena, EnergieKas, Gr8, Zwarte Ruiter, and many more. Music has been part of daily life here for decades, but now we’re taking it a step further. In the coming years, makers, residents, passersby, entrepreneurs, and public authorities will work together to make this area better, fairer, and more sustainable. Not easy, but necessary.

We don’t believe in endless growth. We find growing inequality unacceptable. And we lose sleep over the loss of biodiversity. The transition is urgent. Culture is the fuel. The city is the platform. Bring on the future we long for!
