This special edition of Hague Talks brings climate justice to life through personal stories of courage, responsibility, and change.
As the world turns its attention to the outcomes of the International Court of Justice’s Advisory Opinion on climate change and human rights, join us at the Peace Palace or online for this special edition of Hague Talks, which asks:
What makes climate action just?
The Hague Talks is a platform which brings together inspiring speakers from different walks of life to share personal perspectives on peace, justice, and the work of creating positive change – right here in the city of peace and justice. In this edition, speakers with backgrounds in law, science, ethics, defence, the arts, and policy will share what just climate action means to them, from their own lived experience. It will be an evening of diverse perspectives, dialogue, and reflection on how The Hague and its global community can help shape a more just climate future.
Speakers:
- Susana Muhamad: Former Colombian Minister of Environment and Sustainable Development; President of COP16
- Tom Middendorp: Former Chief of Defence of The Netherlands, founder of International Military Council on Climate and Security, author of “The Climate General”, leading global voice on the security implications of climate change.
