Ocean & North Sea Summit 2023

The occasion for the Ocean & North Sea Summit 2023 in The Hague is the stopover of The Ocean Race from June 11 to 15. The race is a spectacular sailing race around the world. Besides the teamwork and prestige of the sport, social challenges are also linked to the programme. The Netherlands has a long history in this race and in sailing. Teams are increasingly better and more supported by research centres and companies. Sailing also brings more and more answers and solutions to the shore. For example, during the last edition, the ship’s routes were optimised. This was made possible after data analysis retrieved by a Dutch team during the race. The trend of using sport as a test case is becoming increasingly common.
