In honour of Earth Day, Just Peace in collaboration with Resilient Foundation will be hosting a Just Peace Movie Night! We will be screening the environmental documentary, “Blue Carbon.”
Directed by Nicolas Brown, this film follows Grammy Nominated DJ and environmental toxicologist, Jayda G. This film delved into the world of Blue Carbon and its capacity to tackle climate change. Emphasizing the need to listen to nature and support communities at the frontline to climate change.
The film highlights how blue carbon ecosystem remain “a hidden hero in the global discourse on climate solutions.” Nonetheless, with the interest in and number of Blue Carbon offsetting schemes increasing, we wish to explore the possible climate (in)justices through our discussion. Namely, the ethics behind blue carbon credits and the possible exploitation/empowerment of frontline communities.
Tickets are free to all, and attendees are welcome to buy their drinks from the bar throughout.
